Favorite thing friday – Take 1

It’s Friday! Friday’s make everyone happy, so I thought today would be a good day to share some things with you that make me smile  

Here’s a little tidbit about me. I tend to be pretty random. I like things just because I like things. things that don’t even fit into any certain catagory. just cause they make me happy. Here is one example:

 

 

 

Isn’t he cute? This little guy flew to me alllll the way from British Columbia. I found him on the internet, he was hand sculpted by a clay artist, and I just had to have him. He is completely one of a kind and there will never be another one like him. I think this lil’ ole man is a hoot. He sits under my computer monitor and just smiles up at me all day. I just have to smile back every time I see him.

 

      

I’ve also discovered terrariums. This is my little gnome home. Totally adorable I know. I love being out in nature. This is my little piece of the outdoors, and I can see it all day long indoors. And its super easy to keep alive. I’ve recently discovered a baby earthworm in my terrarium, so now I have a pet too, lol. Oh and once in a while you can catch a glipse of the little gnome who lives in this grassy knoll……….

 

Fabrics also make me happy. Here are some of my favorite prints right now…………

 My camera strap is made out of this fabric. I am looking into ways to incorperate this pattern into my business once I get it up and running. It will also incorperate blues and browns, as you can see from these fabrics its my favorite colors

 

I am also noticing just now, that I Love hand made items. Everything in this post was handmade by someone. And it wasn’t even me!  Another interesting fact, every single item listed in this post came from the same website. I guess this means I have one more thing to add to the list today, I LOVE ETSY!

So you had a bad day

Well, Christmas is finally over. The rush and stress of it all has come and gone. I’m crashing hard. We got home last night from Christmas at the lake, and  Today I was pretty un-functional. (is that a word?) .  I didn’t sleep very well, ended up getting out of bed pretty late, but was still tired through-out the day. I know now that I should have just turned around and went right back to bed!  I dragged all day though our house cleaning, I cut my foot on the dog’s metal tie down (ouch!) Four kids got to drag me through a video game store for six hours of  christmas money shopping. Afterward we hit wal-mart for more shopping and groceries. It was then that I got a call from my hubby who was very upset because SOMEONE had downloaded a very serious virus onto his computer that was going to kill the whole thing, and he had had enough of the kids screwing with his computer. I then had to sheepishly interject, that no honey, it was MY fault, I accidentally clicked on a pop up I had believed to be real. (ironically it was a pop up stating that I had a very serious virus and to CLICK HERE to run your virus software to remove it) Siiiiiiigh. I just wasnt thinking in my dragging state of mind. Luckily an hour and a $30 dollar purchase for new virus fixer-upper stuff he got it fixed.  Then I get a call that gave me some very upsetting news about a friend, that is directly resulting in my daughter losing her best friend. (no – no one has died, just moving) She doesnt know yet, and I’m not looking forward to that conversation. I finally give up and leave the store, with next to nothing on my list, because honestly I can barely stand upright, so asking my brain to function is out of the question.  So we go to check out and my coke falls on to the floor. Nice. I want to go hooooome. Ooops, almost forget to pick up the pizza for a friend. Get that taken care of, and drive home. What no ticket?? I was sure I’d end up getting pulled over for SOMTHING after today. I’m almost dissapointed, lol. Time to cook dinner. What? the kids don’t want pork chops now? I give up! Pizza man to the rescue, I’m going to bed!

**Edited to add**  Now that it is the next morning I am editing to add that on my way to bed last night the cat mauled my head. lol. I had picked up the cat and was reaching for another cat to get them out of my room (cats arent allowed to sleep on our bed at night due to me being clausterphobic and marks allergy’s) and the first cat decided I had gotten too close to the dog and went all ninja like on the side of my head. It still hurts! but at least I got to keep my face, which he just barely missed. What a perfect ending to the perfect day, eh? lol
