YAY us!

I’m going to regret this

Yesterday we spent more time on the lake. It was such a beautiful day I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. I jumped in the inner-tube and off we went. My stinker of a husband grabbed my camera and snapped away while my son drove the boat. I’m seriously considering posting those pictures of him jumping off the swing right now, but hey I’m the one posting these so I guess he can’t be held accountable, lol. I know that I am going to seriously regret posting these pics, but hey, I’m a fun girl and I gotta laugh and make fun of myself sometimes right.  (this is for you mom)

My son drives likes a maniac. He will be learning how to drive my car very soon. I’m even more nervous about that now.

And I leave you with one more priceless gem of me……

Ok now that that’s over with, (ya done laughing yet???)  I’ll have you know that both my son AND my husband tried to throw me, but I prevailed! I would not be thrown!  Though my husband did succeed in drowning me a little!

Now it was time for the boys to use the Knee board for the first time

We finally found Seth’s Thing. He had a blast and was really good at it!

He had some great runs. He even starting learning to do tricks

Oh yea, he’s addicted now

Then it was christian’s turn

As good a ski’er as he is, he met his match on the knee board. Apparently the smaller you are the easier it is to pull yourself up. For a long while we thought he was just going to body board all day!

But he finally made it up!

WEB253

He did an awsome job too. He’s getting good at jumping waves.

Mark did attempt the kneeboard, but I was too busy driving the boat to take pics. Maybe next time. (he wants a month to pump iron first anyway ;)

I forsee a nice long water logged summer for this family! ;)

For Better or For Worse

In a wheelchair is not how you want to EVER see your children. Nor do you want to see them gushing blood. But alas this is how we spent last Wednesday the 11th. Our baby girl decided to not take heed the warnings her parents gave her on a daily basis, and went outside to play without shoes on. It was right after she had gotten home from school, and I was putting away groceries from the shopping trip I had just made before meeting the bus. I never even noticed that she had slipped off her shoes and socks when called out that she was going outside and headed out the door. It was only about 10 min later when she came hobbling in crying that she was bleeding. I picked her up and carried her to the tub, and in that instant i knew. I knew we were heading to the E.R. She was going to need stitches for sure. I grabbed a wash rag, held it to her foot and headed out the door with her, calling for her brother to HURRY and get in. We spend to the hospital, (I will not relay what the speedometer or my GPS  said. my GPS that Alarmingly goes off once you pass a certain speed. um thanks honey)

By the time we checked in the washcloth was completely red and I won’t lie I was pretty freaked. Christian had stitches before and it was such a nightmare, I was really dreading isabelle having to go through it too.  We waited our turn, they bandaged her up to try to stop some of the bleeding and we waited our turn.

where we got to watch lots and lots of preteen tv shows

We finally got a room and what do ya know, more waiting. She had calmed down by then which was good and we did everything we could to keep her calm and busy

(thats her reading one of my cake books I had in the car, lol)

The doctor came in took one look at it and almost immediately said the words sutures,  needed, flap, and now. I quickly agreed, after all this was why we were here! I really have to say that this doctor was amazing. He informed isabelle exactly what he was going to do at each step, told her what would hurt and what wouldn’t, and even told her it was ok to cry. He did an amazing job. She screamed through the numbing part, but the doctor had done such a good job and it was easy sailing from there. In fact she was giggling and watching tv the whole time he was sewing her up. And in no time at all she had joined the Frankenstein family with her five stitches and was dubbed “hopalong” for the next week of waddling.  We left with a prescription of antibiotics and are heading back at the end of the week to get them removed. I will definitely be using that hospital again. (btw when my hubby worked in the field he actually helped build that E.R. a few years back, and I must say, he did a great job ;)

Anyhow, Isabelle is doing great!

The “Better” part

Valentine’s Day was two days ago. I must say it was a pretty great day all around. Valentine’s day is also the anniversary of our first date.  The date that I never left, So I must still be on it ;)   We’ve officially been together twelve years. I can’t believe its already been that long. It’s been such an amazing journey together. Anyway, back to Valentine’s day.  There were chocolates and Teddy bears (marks gift to isabelle), gift bags of frappachinos and candy (my gifts to the boys, which went over Extremely well since its something they rarely get to indulge in! the magic age here is 13 where you get to have one cup of coffee on weekends only, so this was an especially big treat for seth who rarely gets the stuff. ) I got mark some much needed  woodworking tools for his workshop he is creating in his garage. But I think mark won the prize on gifts this year.  He surprised me with a Dell 27 inch HD  Ultrasharp Wide screen Computer Monitor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this thing is a MONSTER. It’s crazy insane huge. I’ve never seen one this big before.  It’s so sharp, the colors are GORGEOUS! I’m spoiled I tell you SPOILED! Its incredible, the things I can do on this monitor. It’s crazy insane I tell you, crazy insane.  He was able to get it for a SMOKING deal through his company. Apparently its the same type monitor the Architects use there.  It was such a huge suprise (Pun intended ;)

So after presents and a big breakfast, we went puttering around. Went to a few stores and did some furniture shopping, looked at stuff for the hot tub, had lunch at chili’s, and ended up at Lowes. Ahhhhh one of our most favorite places! There we planned, pick out things, and made the finishing details of our Entertainment center Mark is building in the upcoming weeks. He decided to make us a new dresser too. whoo hoo, I’m lovin this! ;)   Then we came home and moved some furniture around, rearranged some things, and then just crashed and had good ole’ family time! we got tons done, and had a great relaxing time, all in one. It was a great day!

Hope Eveyone else had a great Valentine’s Day!
